Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 March 2025. Using InstantTools means you agree to these terms.
Use the tools for anything legal. Don’t try to break the site or use it in ways that harm others. The tools are provided as-is — we’re not liable if something goes wrong. That’s basically it.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using InstantTools at https://instanttools.tech (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
No account or registration is required to use InstantTools. Simply visiting and using the tools constitutes acceptance of these terms.
2. The Service
InstantTools provides a collection of free, browser-based utility tools including but not limited to: password generation, cryptographic hashing, QR code generation, UUID and token generation, Base64 encoding and decoding, colour tools, Lorem Ipsum generation, name generation, and username generation.
All tools operate client-side — processing happens in your browser, not on our servers. We make no guarantees about the continuous availability of the site or any individual tool. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice.
The site is free to use with no usage limits. We do not charge for any tool and we do not intend to.
3. Permitted Use
You may use InstantTools for any lawful personal, professional, educational, or commercial purpose. Examples of permitted use:
- Generating passwords for your own accounts or for use in software you develop.
- Creating QR codes for your business, events, or personal projects.
- Hashing text for data integrity verification or software development purposes.
- Generating colour palettes, gradients, or design assets for any project.
- Generating placeholder text, random names, or usernames for software testing or design mockups.
- Embedding tool output (generated passwords, hashes, QR codes, colours) in your own applications or deliverables for clients.
There is no requirement to attribute InstantTools when using the output of our tools, though we appreciate it when people do.
4. Prohibited Conduct
The following uses are not permitted:
- Automated scraping at scale — do not use bots to make thousands of requests per minute. The tools are for human use.
- Attempts to compromise the site — do not attempt to inject code, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with the site’s operation.
- Illegal purposes — do not use the site to generate content or tools for use in illegal activities.
- Misrepresentation — do not present InstantTools as your own product or claim to be affiliated with us when you are not.
- Circumventing ad systems — do not use ad-blocking software to view the site while clicking ads, or engage in any activity designed to generate fraudulent ad revenue.
Violations may result in your IP being blocked from accessing the site.
5. Intellectual Property
The code, design, and content of InstantTools — including the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, visual design, and written content — is owned by InstantTools and is protected by copyright.
You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the site’s source code or visual design without written permission.
Output you generate using our tools (passwords, hashes, QR codes, colour values, Lorem Ipsum text, names, etc.) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over anything produced by the tools.
The Outfit and JetBrains Mono typefaces used on this site are licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence. The qrcode.js library is licensed under the MIT Licence.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
InstantTools is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We specifically disclaim:
- Fitness for a specific purpose — the password generator produces cryptographically random output, but we make no guarantee it meets the specific requirements of any particular service or security standard.
- Accuracy — generated names, slogans, and hashtags are combinatorial outputs. We make no claim they are factually accurate or appropriate for every context.
- Uninterrupted availability — the site may be down for maintenance, hosting issues, or other reasons without notice.
- Freedom from bugs — we do our best, but we cannot guarantee the tools are error-free in all browsers and environments.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, InstantTools and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the site.
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits resulting from reliance on tool output.
- Security breaches resulting from passwords generated by, or data processed through, this site — since all processing is local, security depends on your own device and environment.
- Damages arising from third-party services (Google Fonts, Cloudflare, RandomUser.me) used to deliver site functionality.
If you are using InstantTools for critical security applications, you are responsible for independently verifying the suitability of the tool for your requirements.
8. Advertising
InstantTools displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. These ads help cover hosting costs and keep the tools free. By using the site, you acknowledge that:
- Ads are served by Google and are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Clicking on ads is entirely voluntary. We are not responsible for the content of external advertised sites.
- Ad blockers are permitted, though disabling them on our site helps support the project financially.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects when changes were last made. Material changes will be noted here.
Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, stop using the site.
